Fire Engine Falls Through Deck At Paoli Hospital

The engine and two others were there to honor a dying volunteer's last wishes.

A fire engine that became struck in the Paoli Hospital parking lot and had to be lifted out was there to honor the final wish of a dying member of the fire department. According to a statement from West Chester Fire Department Chief Dale McClure, a 25-year member of the department with terminal cancer had requested that company apparatus escort him from the hospital to a hospice care center in West Chester. The engine, from Good Will Fire Company No. 2, arrived with at least two others at the hospital around 1:30 p.m. Thursday to fulfill the firefighter's request. Tractor Trailer Flips On Route 30 Ramp to Route 202

The accident happened early Monday morning.

A tractor trailer crashed around 1:30 a.m. Monday on the Route 30 East bypass ramp to Route 202 North. The truck was reportedly hauling potatoes. Abel Brothers Towing set up above the wreck on Route 202 and righted the truck. No immediate information about injuries or property damage was available. The crash occurred in West Whiteland Township, just past the East Whiteland border.

Two-Vehicle Accident Temporarily Closes Route 926

Three injured in two SUVs in accident on Dutton Mill Road.

Update: The two vehicles involved were a black Ford Escape, which had two adults, both of whom were able to stand and climb onto stretchers with some assistance, and a silver Jeep bearing Ohio plates. The Jeep contained a man, who suffered a shoulder injury, and a child. Police couldn't say immediately how the crash occurred, but they took statements from two witnesses.
