Blotter: 'Barn Sale' Sign Stolen, Benz Recovered

The Mercedes SUV reported stolen earlier this month was found in Camden, NJ.

Arrest information was supplied by the Malvern Police Department. An arrest does not indicate a conviction. Vehicle Theft update... The Mercedes Benz SUV reported stolen from Gallagher's Auto Service was recovered in Camden, NJ. Borough Police have a local suspect and the investigation is ongoing.   DUI… On Jan. 19, at 5:15 p.m., police charged a 27-year-old Pottstown resident with driving under the influence after he was observed driving erratically. Officers conducted field sobriety tests after the driver parked near Woodland Avenue and King Street. He failed the tests, his Honda was taken to the East Whiteland impound lot. He was also charged with possession after police found three baggies believed to contain marijuana in his jacket …

Blotter: Stolen Car, Stolen Lights, Broken Bottles

Public Drunkeness… Police cited a 26-year-old Malvern man with public drunkenness around 10:44 p.m. on Dec. 14 near the intersection of Woodland and Roberts avenues. Police had previously transported the man to his home after being called to a dispute in which he was involved earlier that night. Public drunk… On Dec. 14 at 10:21 p.m., a 51-year-old West Chester resident was cited for public drunkeness after yelling obscenities at a police officer near the parking lot of the Malvern train station. Blotter: Food Stamps for Sale

Fraud… On Nov. 26, police received a report from an anonymous female caller at Raintree Condominiums, who said someone had attempted to sell her and several other Raintree residents food stamps in exchange for cash.  Fraud… On Nov. 30, the National Bank of Malvern reported a wire fraud to Malvern Police, in the amount of $6,500. Documents relating to the incident were turned over to investigators. Assault… The morning of Dec. 11, a 60-year-old Willistown resident was arrested for simple assault of his girlfriend. According to police, the assault started in his Willistown home, but the victim drove with the man to a friend's home in Malvern Borough, where police were called due to her screaming for help. Blotter: Condo Storage Soiled

DUI… On Nov. 22, just before midnight, a police observed a light blue Honda Accord on Sugartown Road south of Forest Lane crossing approximately two feet over the yellow dividing line. The officer was in the oncoming lane and had to swerve out of the way to avoid a collision, then turned around and activated his lights and siren. The Accord continued onto Paoli Pike, again crossing the center line. When the Accord finally stopped, the driver, a 27-year-old Malvern man, smelled of alcohol and had glassy eyes. He failed field sobriety tests and was arrested for DUI, driving with a suspended license, fleeing and eluding police, careless driving and failure to drive on the right side of the roadway.   Criminal mischief… On Nov. 25, at 9:26 a.m…

Blotter: Car Egged, Double-Syrup'ed

Burglary… On Nov. 9, a resident of the 100 block of West Broad Street reported that his home had been burglarized some time between 11 a.m. and 2:15 p.m.  One of the glass panes of his apartment door had been broken, and the man showed police a glass jar labeled "car fund" that was reportedly missing $700 in cash.    Underage drinking... On Nov. 11, an officer in the Malvern Shopping Center observed a Toyota Camry headed east on King Street fail to stop at the intersection with Powelton Avenue. The officer stopped the vehicle on Warren Avenue and smelled alcohol inside. A 17-year-old girl, who was not driving, was found to be the only person drinking. Blotter: Booby-Trapped Campaign Signs, Octogenarian DUI

DUI… Oct. 18, at 3:20 p.m., an 83-year-old Haverford woman was arrested for driving under the influence. The woman allegedly hit another car then drove her Volvo onto the lawn of a house on Crestside Way near Sugartown Road, hitting a pine tree. Three small bottles of Bailey's Irish Crème were found in her car. She was taken to Paoli Hospital, where she had blood drawn and was found to be uninjured from the crash.  Theft… On Oct. 18, police received a report of stolen property from the 100 block of Old Lincoln Highway. The theft had occurred some time in the previous week. A homeowner claimed that a large, steel cake-mixer valued at $1,000 was stolen off his property, along with a piece of exercise equipment valued at $200.   Burglary… On …

Blotter: Public Drunkenness on King, Van Full of Grease

Public Drunkenness… On Oct. 11, at 10:57 p.m., a resident of Kingsbury Condominiums reported two males loitering suspiciously near her car in the complex's parking lot. The responding officer found two men walking from the scene. One of them, a 22-year-old borough resident, was having difficulty walking. He failed a field sobriety test and was charged with public drunkenness. It was a slow week for police activity in Malvern Borough, so we have included recent incidents from Malvern Fire Company: Grease-filled Van Crash on Warren Avenue: On Oct. 11, at 5:24 a.m., Station 4 Fire and EMS units were dispatched to the area of Warren Avenue and Andrews Road for an auto accident following a police pursuit. Blotter: Cash and Pills Stolen from Home

The following information was supplied by the Malvern Police Department. An arrest does not indicate a conviction.

Burglary… On Sept. 30, Malvern Police received a burglary report from the Raintree Condiminium complex. The homeowner said that, some time between Sept. 25 and 29, a large amount of cash and medicine was removed from his residence. Among the missing items were $600 in cash, $300 in coins, oxycontin tablets, Clonazepam tablets, Levitra pills and Tylenol with codeine. Police have identified a person of interest in the theft.

Malvern Police Blotter: Keyed Car

The following arrest information was supplied by the Malvern Police Department. An arrest does not indicate a conviction.

Criminal Mischief…  On Sept. 22, at 1:53 a.m. police responded to a noise complaint in the Charleston Green parking lot complex. A woman there said her 1998 Nissan Maxima had been keyed by another woman with whom she'd been in a verbal disagreement. Police are investigating.

Malvern Police Blotter: Harassment by Text

The following arrest information was supplied by the Malvern Police Department. An arrest does not indicate a conviction.

Harassment by communication… A 53-year-old Philadelphia man was arrested for harassing his girlfriend via text messages. The harassment occurred between Sept. 10 and 11 following a fight at the victim's East King Street home.  DUI… On Sept. 15, just after 1 a.m., a 42-year-old West Chester resident was pulled over on the 200 block of Paoli Pike for speeding and following another vehicle too closely. She failed field sobriety tests and was taken to Paoli Hospital for blood testing.
