The mall's parent company has released a new app to assist shoppers.
Exton Square Mall, an affiliate of Pennsylvania Real Estate Investment Trust (PREIT), has released a new app help busy shoppers save time and money. The previous app helped users find stores, restaurants and entertainment at Exton Square and other PREIT Malls. Stores information, including specials, hours, directions and contact information, is accessible through the app. The new version features a product search option, powered by Google, which will make it easy to find specific items at participating mall stores. Chester County District Attorney Tom Hogan announced the execution of a search warrant at JM Cigars in Exton. The police recovered over 1,000 doses of alleged synthetic drugs at the cigar store. The Uwchlan Township Police Department spearheaded the search, assisted by the Chester County District Attorney’s HIDTA Strike Force. Synthetic drugs go by many names: bath salts, synthetic marijuana, spice, salvia, potpourri, and others. These so-called "designer drugs" are analogues of traditional illegal drugs, such as cocaine and PCP, often with only slight chemical alterations in an attempt to evade prosecution. The 350-plus unit senior living community planned for East Swedesford Road lost its sponsorship.
Makemie at Whiteland, a "premier Senior Living Community" that was slated to open in 2013 on the western edge of East Whiteland, will not be built. Multiple news sources are reporting the project's sponsor has abandoned the project due to insufficient sales. According to Philadelphia Business Journal, Presby’s Inspired Life issued a statement saying it decided to pull the plug after failing to meet a 70-percent threshold in pre-sales. “Presby has not been able to obtain this despite its best efforts. Entrance fees starting at 338,000? In this economy? Really? If they had built a more affordable community it probably would have filled right away.
